Silver buttonwood (Conocarpus erectus var. sericeus) is a unique, native coastal shrub or small tree known for its silvery, velvety leaves and button-like brown fruits. It thrives in full sun and is salt-tolerant, making it suitable for coastal landscapes and inland plantings. It can be used as a specimen tree, privacy screen, or hedge.  It does not require irrigation once established and will grow in full sun to parital shade.
