Kids Worm Activity
Get ready to wiggle into the world of worms! In this hands-on Kids Vermiculture Workshop, children will build their very own mini worm farm and learn how worms turn food scraps into nutrient-rich soil. Perfect for 3 year old to 12 year old eco-enthusiasts! We ask each kid to bring in a clear plastic up-cycled container such as: produce container, tub, Tupperware, etc...and some plant based food scraps from breakfast or dinner, as we build a miniature worm ecosystem together using materials brought and provided we will learn about soil ecology and the decomposition process as well as all about the earthworm and how it works to turn your scraps into dirt. All kids get to take home their worms!
