Purple porterweed is a perennial flowering plant known for its vibrant purple blooms and attractive to pollinators like butterflies and hummingbirds. It's a relatively low-maintenance plant, thriving in sunny to partially shaded locations with well-draining soil.  It is rich in nectar and the small purple flowers are edible. They have a white mushroom flavor - great for addign to salads or as a garnish.
