Green Buttonwood (Conocarpus erectus) is a versatile, evergreen tree or large shrub known for its salt and drought tolerance, making it ideal for coastal landscapes. It can be found in various forms, from low and spreading to upright, multi-trunked trees, and is often used as a screen, hedge, or specimen plant. Its leaves are typically dark green and leathery, and it produces small, inconspicuous, greenish-white flowers followed by distinctive button-like fruits. This native plant does not require irrigation once established and will grow in full sun to partial shade.
